Between April and June 2022, I spent three months in the beautiful capital of the Czech Republic, Prague, as part of my PhD project.
I worked on the characterization of nematophagous fungi of the Esteya genus, both at the Department of Botany of Charles University, and at the Laboratory of Fungal Genetics and Metabolism, Institute of Microbiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, under the supervision of Dr. Alena Kubátová and Dr. Miroslav Kolařík, respectively.
Exciting results were obtained and great collaborations were established! It was an incredible experience, the best part is the people I met there, which made this journey so much more enjoyable.
How about you? Did you apply to an internship outside of your home country during your postgraduate education?
